C.The alleyway disappeared, his blurred gaze was staring up at an empty celling, panting heavily as if he had just finished running a marathon. With terror flooding through his mind once more, Ezra struggled to get up, but was held pinned to the bed.
Turning round, he saw the fuzzy outline of black, red and white, shaded by the dim lamp light.
“…Rin?” He whispered, bottom lip trembling, desperate for confirmation.
“It’s me. Hush, my boy.”Gentle, steady arms wrapped around him and Ezra was enveloped into hug. All this sudden softness made him crack as he sobbed into the crook of Rin’s neck, clinging tightly on the fabric draped around the other’s shoulders. Rin let him cry, fingers threading through the flaxen-colored tufts and whispering soothing words into Ezra’s ear.
